PLATFORM

Brandon Martin's Platform for Sierra Vista: Defending Freedom, Prosperity, and Opportunity for All

As a dedicated Sierra Vista 20 year resident who's always stood for personal liberty and limited government, I've witnessed the grit and independence that define our community—built on self-reliance, family values, and our unbreakable bond with Fort Huachuca. I'm Brandon Martin, and I'm stepping up for mayor because it's time to put our hardworking folks first with real, no-nonsense solutions that respect your rights and wallet. With my time as Assistant Store Manager at Lowe's here in Sierra Vista, sharpening my edge in smart bargaining and efficient management; as Training Coordinator at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (USAICoE), where I cut through red tape to deliver results; and as an interrogation instructor and U.S. Army interrogator, honing my skills in sharp analysis and forging strong partnerships under fire—I'm ready to fight for a city that champions affordability, job growth, retiree security, and individual freedom. We'll tackle three key areas: fueling job creation and keeping costs low, upgrading essential services with a focus on excellence, and bolstering our alliance with Fort Huachuca. This is straight talk from someone who's served and succeeded—let's reclaim Sierra Vista as a beacon of opportunity where freedom thrives and government gets out of the way.

Pillar 1: Fueling Job Growth and Keeping Costs Low – Bargaining Hard for Hardworking Families

Sierra Vista holds immense promise for becoming a hub of economic vitality and low living expenses, but we're up against hurdles like escalating housing prices and the demand for broader career paths that reward initiative. From my days at Lowe's, where I prioritized operations for real customer savings, I'll bring that same grit to draw in enterprises and lock in incentives that spawn solid, well-paying jobs. I'll push to broaden Opportunity Zones, pulling in thriving sectors like defense technology, drone systems, and cyber defense—all linked to Fort Huachuca's core strengths. We'll build the backbone for projects that spark employment, driven by private innovation. To keep costs in check, I'll champion cuts in property taxes and team up with builders to erect more attainable housing—targeting 200 new units for working folks over the next four years by slashing bureaucratic hurdles and encouraging market-driven partnerships. My Army interrogation experience sharpened my ability to uncover key facts and earn trust; I'll apply that in open forums with residents and local leaders to craft an economic blueprint that mirrors true priorities, like backing small enterprises with affordable financing and skill-building programs geared toward veterans and families. This is about fostering genuine, lasting expansion that lets Sierra Vista remain a spot where self-starters and families can prosper without government overreach squeezing them dry.

Pillar 2: Upgrading Essential Services – Providing World-Class Support with Efficiency and Excellence

The core functions of our city—from law enforcement and learning opportunities to roads and leisure—should empower individuals, but problems like crumbling pavement, patchy walkways, and shifting safety demands call for smarter, more effective fixes that prioritize taxpayer value. As Training Coordinator at USAICoE, I overhauled programs to boost effectiveness and eliminate waste, maximizing every resource—talents I'll deploy to revamp city operations for superior outcomes without bloating budgets. We'll launch a thorough review of services, beginning with a full-city assessment to target repairs on critical roads and direct funds where they count most. A heavy emphasis will go toward our retiree community, ensuring access to top-tier healthcare through partnerships with private providers and clinics that deliver world-class care tailored to seniors' needs, from preventive services to specialized treatments that promote independent living. For public safety, I'll grow resident-input efforts to shape plans that shorten response times via advanced training and gear, all while respecting personal rights. On education, we'll expand choices for middle- and working-class families by collaborating with schools to offer more vocational that equip kids with practical skills for self-sufficiency. Recreation gets a lift too: enhancing parks with cost-saving energy improvements to lower bills across the board. My Lowe's background in leading teams and handling assets guarantees these changes are frugal and effective, while my instructor expertise lets me create inter-departmental training that elevates staff performance. At heart, this is about forging a Sierra Vista that's secure, reachable, and vibrant for everyone—especially our retirees enjoying their golden years—because when core services excel without excess, personal freedom and community strength soar.

Pillar 3: Bolstering Ties with Fort Huachuca – Harnessing Our Alliance for Shared Strength and Security

Fort Huachuca stands as the cornerstone of Sierra Vista's character, providing livelihoods for thousands while advancing vital operations in cyber defense, drone training, and electronic combat that make us a powerhouse in national protection. To maximize this asset, we must forge tighter bonds on mutual issues like job training and resource stewardship, all while upholding individual liberties. As a former U.S. Army interrogator and instructor, I forged coalitions and dissected tough situations to secure victories—skills I'll wield to strengthen our connection with the base. We'll form a Joint Coordination Committee convening every quarter to sync on goals, kicking off with joint initiatives to convert military expertise into civilian careers, with a target of integrating 500 veterans yearly via customized programs modeled after USAICoE's best practices. To amplify economic benefits, I'll advocate for growing the Electronic Proving Ground's capabilities, drawing in contractors and ramping up local earnings through shared facilities like the co-use airport. Safeguarding water and resources remains crucial: locking in funding for fire prevention and water replenishment efforts to defend our common assets. This alliance hits close to home for me—my time at Fort Huachuca ignites my drive to see it flourish, delivering steady employment, cutting-edge progress, and a fortified tomorrow for every Sierra Vista household. Let's pay tribute to our military legacy by turning this partnership into a national exemplar of freedom and mutual gain.
